Raw material

  • Coconut and Palmera nut coir are renewable materials sourced locally

  • Timber is sourced locally from vendors that get it from scrap wood or from trees that are abundantly available in the area

 

Production

  • Made by local workers (young adults and women) in southern India

  • Coir is stacked, cleaned and prepared to be added to the brush

  • Wood is shaped into the brush handle through a machine-hand process

  • No glue or plastic is used

 

Environment impact

  • Only compostable and reusable natural materials are used

  • The brushes can be discarded in nature without environmental harm

  • Modern machinery helps create an effective workflow while reducing energy use

  • Sustainable (renewable) use of wood in the products - by using scrap wood mainly, or trees that are locally in abundance

Social impact

  • Employing marginalised workers and giving them livelihoods
