Raw material
Hemp grown organically in rural Himalayan communities
Textile scraps collected from local garment manufacturers for patchwork
Himalayan wool is gathered from free-roaming local sheep
Natural dyes made with roots, spices, other botanicals and minerals
 
Production
After collecting the hemp from local farmers it is weaved before it's used by the rural Himalayan tailoring units to make durable textile products
Patchwork products are made by the cluster of tailoring units in the rural Himalayan community
Wool products are hand knitted by local home workers in the community
Natural dying is done locally by a master dyer
The production of all the products is centred around creating livelihood opportunities for the local population in the rural areas of the Himalayas
 
Environmental impact
Handmaking requires less energy and lower carbon footprints are produced
By using waste materials both waste pollution, CO2 emissions and water use is drastically reduced
Natural dying means no harmful chemicals spill into the surrounding nature

Social impact
Local people are trained and employed through the production units and homeworking
Creating rural livelihood opportunities contributes to wider rural development and a more sturdy local economy
Women are especially empowered and farmers are provided additional income opportunities
