Co2 Neutralization: The Second Best

We work together with NGOs, marginalized farmers, local deforestation and ecosystem rehabilitation projects to plant trees that offset Co2, provide livelihoods to farmers and create healthy ecosystems for wildlife and plant life.

To know how much to neutralize we estimate the Co2 emissions in our complete supply chain. From main raw materials the whole way to B2B fulfillment. You find this Co2 estimation in the Sustainability Report for each product.

Minimization

Co2 neutralization is however not our first priority. Before neutralizing we strive to minimize the Co2 emissions from our supply chain. We consider Co2 emissions when choosing main raw materials, transport methods, production methods, product design and packaging.

By having the products made close to the main raw materials we reduce transportation and encourage manual techniques. This also means that more of the value-adding stays behind in rural areas, helping create development. Read more about our work to minimize Co2 emissions here.

Sea freight

All our products are shipped by sea, which is why we have to ask you to be a little patient with the product delivery. There is a large difference between sea and air freight in terms of Co2 emissions. However, as long as products are shipped directly by sea, the Co2 emissions from international freight are most often small compared to the emissions tied to the choice of raw material and production method. That's why we focus so much on raw material assessment and low impact production methods.

The last mile - your part of the Co2 emissions

To keep ensuring minimal Co2 emissions tied to each product after we have delivered it to your company we encourage you to find low Co2 emission delivery methods if you do B2C delivery. Door delivery of consumer orders (“the last mile”) often results in high Co2 emissions per product. Using delivery methods where the package is delivered as part of the standard post distribution, or with couriers that use pick-up points are good options to lower Co2 for the final delivery.

We will continuously strive to finds ways to reduce Co2 emissions from our products and supply chain. The Co2 emissions we currently cannot avoid we will continue to offset in a way that creates social impact in rural and wildlife areas.
